About Caluful

Certifications

CertiPUR-US®
The CertiPUR-US® program is a voluntary testing, analysis and certification program for flexible polyurethane foam used in mattresses. Mattresses with the CertiPUR-US® seal contain flexible polyurethane foam cushioning products that have been tested and certified by independent laboratories. CertiPUR-US® is like having a health check-up for foam. The foam is examined and put through a series of scientific tests to ensure it meets the strict voluntary standards of the CertiPUR-US® program. The tests evaluate foam content and important durability factors.
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Examples of articles that can be certified: raw and dyed/finished yarns, woven and knitted fabrics, accessories, such as buttons, zip fasteners, sewing threads or labels, ready-made articles of various types (garments of all types, domestic and household textiles, bed linen, terry products and much more).

Environmental Responsibility

CALUFUL Mattress has a long tradition of commitment to making a positive impact on the environment, in order to ensure that the area we live in is a comfortable, healthy place for everyone. This commitment has been engrained in the company culture for 4 generations, with this commitment being continued through our dedication to reducing our carbon footprint, while creating unique, high quality products that help individuals fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling refreshed.
 Fabric
Many of Caluful’s new high quality designs feature environmentally friendly, organic cotton covers that are healthy and free of harmful chemicals and pesticides.
The covers used by CALUFUL products meet the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 that tests to ensure that no harmful substances have been used.
Spring Units
CALUFUL Mattress manufactures its pocketed coils in-house, leading to reduced deliveries of spring units that lead to greater fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
Plant Based Eco-Flex Foam
CALUFUL uses Plant Based Eco-Flex Foam, which is produced using renewable materials, while using 25% less carbon emissions than the standard foam used by other manufacturers.
CertiPUR®
The foam used by CALUFUL is CertiPUR® certified by an independent laboratory, guaranteeing that our foams meet a strict criteria for physical performance, indoor emissions and environmental stewardship. CertiPur Certification means that there are no harmful chemicals or substances in the foams we use.
Latex
CALUFUL uses Natural Talalay Latex that is naturally healthy and is anti-microbial.  It is the most durable, consistent, and breathable latex available.
The supplier of Caluful’s Talalay latex is Oeko-Tex® certified, which tests for harmful substances and ensures that strict human ecological requirements are fulfilled.
 Fire Retardant Barriers
CALUFUL uses fire retardant barriers, which are made primarily from cotton or other cellulosic renewable fibers and contain no harmful chemicals or processes.

Wood
CALUFUL Mattress is a member of the Rainforest Alliance SmartWood program, which is the world’s first global forestry certification program that is dedicated to forest conservation by relying on market forces.

Energy & waste reducing manufacturing processes
All of the excess material left over from the manufacturing process is recycled and re-used by a third party. This excess material includes fabric, foam, wood and steel. CALUFUL uses local suppliers for its components in order to conserve fuel and transportation costs, as well as reduce carbon emissions. In-addition, CALUFUL has invested in a highly efficient lighting system throughout the factory that automatically turns them on and off.
Whenever possible, CALUFUL aims to reduce the amount of shipping and mailing materials that are used by consolidating orders and sending data electronically whenever possible.
CALUFUL facilities are run using the Just-In-Time Manufacturing Method, which reduces inventory waste and allows employees to use their skills more efficiently.

Environment & Efficiency focus at Caluful facilities

The CALUFUL recycle program actively pursues continual improvement to ensure that measures are in place to recycle cans, bottles, paper and cardboard used by the facility. All facilities are cleaned and maintained using environmentally friendly products. CALUFUL Mattress is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, which ensures that we continually meet their rigorous compliance to established sustainability standards in order to ensure that we are committed to ongoing improvement.
